Distribution of fish production in Egypt 2020
Fishery cultivation (i.e., farms, canals, drainages, and rice fields) was the main source of Egyptian fish production. As of 2020, nearly 79 percent of the fish produced in the country originated from this source. The country's four Northern lakes (El-Manzala, El-Boroullos, Edco, and Maryott) followed, with almost 10 percent of the production. Furthermore, coastal plains only contributed to 0.1 percent of the fish production in the country.
